1951-2007

It is with the greatest sadness that the Jamaica Estates Volunteer Ambulance Corps announces the loss of  Ron Freed. Ron was a founding member of the ambulance corps in 1974. In his years of service to the corps, Ron filled almost every officership, including Captain. Without Ron's hard work in the early years, the corps may never have come into existence.

Ron's "Day Job" included managing the "Stage Deli" in midtown Manhattan and in later years he worked as a ticket broker. 

Ron is survived by his son Adam and his sister Monica. 

Ron was the brother of the late Babe Freed,

another Past Captain. 

He will always be missed.
